On November 12, 2025, at 11:45 p.m., West District General Patrol and Community Support Unit officers, assisted by members of Air1, initiated a traffic pursuit involving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado which was suspected stolen. The male driver was arrested after a twenty-minute pursuit which ended in a farm field in the 2000 block of Wilkes Avenue.
Officers initially observed the Silverado in the area of Oakdale Drive and Roblin Boulevard. Members of Air1 maintained visual containment of the Silverado after officers attempted to carry out a traffic stop. With guidance from Air1, ground units deployed several tire deflation devices, damaging the Silverado’s tires.
The damaged Silverado continued southbound on a residential gravel road in the 2000 block of Wilkes Avenue before entering a field where ground units boxed in the vehicle and took the driver into custody. Officers seized a Crossman airsoft pellet rifle, approximately 55 Grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine, packaging materials, and drug paraphernalia after searching the vehicle. The driver was transported to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported as a result of the incident; however, two police vehicles sustained minor damage.
The 24-year-old male driver faces charges of Flight while Pursued by a Peace Officer and Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. He was also issued multiple Provincial Offence Act notices regarding Highway Traffic Act infractions.
He was released on two Undertakings to appear in court at later dates.
