On October 30, 2025, two federal inmates escaped custody from a minimum-security federal facility in Crane River, Manitoba. Warrants were issued and the Manitoba Integrated Violent Offender Apprehension Unit (MIVOAU) began an intensive search. MIVOAU is a joint investigative and apprehension unit comprised of officers from the Winnipeg Police Service and Manitoba RCMP.
On November 1, 2025, just before 11:30 a.m., with the assistance of East District General Patrol, Clifford Clinton LAMIRANDE, (33), was located at an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Rothesay Street and taken into custody.
He was arrested on the strength of a Warrant for Apprehension and Suspension of Parole/Statutory Release, and was returned to custody.
On November 6, 2025, just after 9:00 a.m., with the assistance of the North District Community Support Team, Cory Jeffery EVERETT, (39), was located near Arlington Street and Bannerman Avenue. He was taken into custody and police seized the following items during his arrest.
- Approximately 77 grams of cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $7,700)
- Approximately $170 in Canadian currency
- Folding knife
- Airsoft pistol
- Replica brass knuckles
EVERETT was charged with the following offences:
- Warrant – Apprehension and Suspension of Parole/Statutory Release
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Possession of a Weapon x 3
He was detained in custody.
