On the evening of October 14, 2025, a backpack was stolen from a locker at a fitness centre in the first 100 block of Doncaster Street. The backpack contained a victim’s wallet and other personal belongings. Shortly after the theft, bank cards from the stolen wallet were used to purchase merchandise at several retail stores in the 1600,1700, and 1900 block of Portage Avenue.
West District General Patrol officers assumed the investigation, and identified a suspect.
On October 16, officers located and arrested the 38-year-old suspect for several theft and fraud related charges. He was released on an Undertaking.
