On October 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a robbery involving firearms at a residence on Bachman Bay in Mandalay West. Initial information also relayed that two residents had been shot during the robbery. As of note, the residents operate a jewellery home business from this location.

Arriving North District General Patrol officers located two men, aged 56 and 33 years, suffering from lower-body gunshot wounds. Both were transported to hospital, one in unstable condition and the other in stable condition, where they received medical attention for their injuries.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and learned that the suspect vehicle, a black 2020/21 Volkswagen Jetta sedan with an unknown license plate, arrived with five people aboard. After circling the neighbourhood a few times, the driver stopped the Jetta in front of the residence where four passengers exited. The armed masked suspects, entered the business, shot two of the occupants, and stole an undisclosed amount of jewellery before fleeing in the awaiting Jetta.

Investigators determined the Jetta had arrived from eastbound Jefferson Avenue and circled the block a few times before the robbery. The vehicle was last seen fleeing westbound Jefferson Avenue from Argate Bay after the robbery.
