On October 14, shortly before 7:40 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers arrested a 26-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman in the area of Main Street and Logan Avenue after receiving a report two persons had been robbed at knifepoint.
At 7:32 p.m., police learned that a 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old woman were walking northbound in the 600 block of Main Street when they were approached by the man and woman. The man pulled out a machete while both demanded property from the victims. They fled empty-handed and the victims contacted police.
The robbery was unprovoked and random in nature. The victims were uninjured as a result of the incident.
Officers located and arrested both suspects nearby and recovered a machete in a parking lot.
Stephan Nicholas FONTAINE, 26, is charged with two counts of Robbery and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order. FONTAINE was also arrested on the strength of two active warrants. He was detained in custody.
The 38-year-old woman faces two charges of Robbery. She was released on an Undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
