Police seek public’s assistance in locating robbery suspect for rash of purse snatchings: C25-196481

The Major Crimes Unit has identified a male suspect involved in multiple robberies involving purse snatchings with violence, in the Polo Park and Crestview neighbourhoods. The majority of the victims were elderly females and all occurred in parking lots.

Purse Snatcher

The following incidents occurred in Winnipeg between August 20 and August 25, 2025.

  • August 20, 2025: Just before 3:30 p.m., the suspect approached the victim from behind on a bicycle, in a hotel parking lot, in the 2500 block of Portage Avenue, and grabbed the victim’s purse away from her and fled the area.

  • August 20, 2025: Just before 4:30 p.m., the suspect approached the victim from behind, in a retail parking lot, in the 800 block of St. James Street, and grabbed the victim’s lunch bag away from her and fled the area.

  • August 20, 2025: Just before 4:30 p.m., the suspect approached the victim from behind on a bicycle, in a retail parking lot, in the 1600 block of Ness Avenue, and grabbing at the victim’s purse before fleeing the area. The victim was able to hold onto her purse and fell as a result of the incident, suffering a broken wrist.

  • August 20, 2025: Around 4:30 p.m., the suspect approached the victim from behind on a bicycle, in a retail parking lot, in the 1600 block of Ness Avenue, and grabbed the victim’s purse from her shopping cart and fled the area.

  • August 25, 2025: Just after 11:30 a.m., the suspect approached the victim from behind on a bicycle, in a retail parking lot, in the 3400 block of Portage Avenue, and grabbed the victim’s purse away from her and fled the area.

Investigators believe ALLINGHAM is currently in the Winnipeg area.

ALLINGHAM is considered dangerous, do not approach him, call police.
