On August 22, 2025, shortly before 5:00 p.m., East General Patrol officers arrested two men regarding their involvement following two separate assaults at a convenience store in the 1100 block of St. Mary’s Road.
Shortly before their arrests, the two suspects attended the convenience store where one of the suspects assaulted a 58-year-old man who had inadvertently bumped into him. The victim was knocked to the ground and further assaulted. While leaving the store, the suspects crossed paths with the second victim, a 48-year-old man who was punched and struck over the head with a coffee pot. Both suspects fled on foot before police arrived. The victims suffered minor injuries which did not require further medical attention.
Attending officers searching for the suspects were flagged down by a passer-by who directed them to a Chesterfield Avenue residence where both were arrested without incident. A small quantity of cocaine was found on one of the suspects and seized as evidence.
Tyler Roger WESCOUPE (19), is charged with Assault, Possession of a Scheduled Substance and on the strength of four warrants of arrest. While in police custody, WESCOUPE spat on a Central Processing Officer and was additionally charged with Assault Peace Officer.
WESCOUPE was detained in custody.
An 18-year-old man faces charges of Possession of a Weapon and Assault with a Weapon.
He was released on an Undertaking.
