On August 10, 2024, a 49-year-old woman succumbed to injuries after being struck by a vehicle on the Harry Lazarenko Bridge (Redwood Bridge).
The Traffic Division's Collision Investigation Section continued the investigation.
On August 11, 2025, investigators arrested a 28-year-old woman, who is facing a charge of Careless Driving Causing Death under the Highway Traffic Act.
She was released on an Appearance Notice under the Provincial Offences Act.

On August 10, 2024, at approximately 1:45 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of an injured person on the Harry Lazarenko Bridge (Redwood Bridge). A female was located and found to have serious injuries.
Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service attended to the female who had already succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. A preliminary investigation indicated that the female was lying on the ground of the bridge when she was struck by a westbound vehicle.
The adult driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene of the collision and spoke with investigators.
The Traffic Division's Collision Investigation Section has assumed the investigation and has identified the pedestrian as a 49-year-old female from Winnipeg.
