The WPS Community Support Units work to reduce and prevent criminal activity that affects our local neighbourhoods. By addressing concerns from citizens and businesses, Community Support Unit officers form relationships and aim to build safer communities through proactive action.
On July 31, 2025, the Central Community Support Unit executed search warrants at a residence in the 600 block of Furby Street after receiving reports of drug trafficking at the address. As a result of the search warrants, investigators seized the following:
- .22 caliber Sawed-off Rifle
- Improvised Firearm (Zip Gun)
- Paint Ball Pistol
- Air Pistols x 5
- Assorted Ammunition (12-Gauge, 9 mm, .22 Calibre Hollow Point)
- Bowie knives x 3
- Canister of Bear Spray
- Collapsible Steel Baton
- Hatchet and Machete
- Approximately 90 Grams Fentanyl (Estimated Street Value: $22,000)
- 7 Grams Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value: $700)
- Scales and Packaging
- Approximately $112 CDN Currency
Investigators arrested 43-year-old Jerrold Elliott Miles McIVOR during the search warrants. He has been charged with numerous firearms, weapons, and drug trafficking-related charges, as well as breaches of an undertaking.
McIVOR was detained in custody.
