July 11th 2025, marks 10 years since the disappearance and homicide of Thelma Krull, below is a statement released on behalf of the Historical Homicide Unit:

The Winnipeg Police Service wants to thank our community — all of you — for the hundreds of tips and useful information you have provided to us over the past 10 years. Despite thousands of hours of work that’s gone into this investigation by both our agency and the RCMP, it sadly remains unsolved. We have explored many investigative avenues and leads, and are here again today asking for your help. The case remains open and active and we will continue to investigate all tips submitted to our agency. We believe the answer is still out there, and we are hopeful that with the help of the community we can find justice for Thelma Krull and her family.

Thelma had gone for a walk on July 11, 2015, at 7:23 a.m., and is believed to have walked from her residence in the Grassie Boulevard area to the Civic Park/Kildonan East Collegiate area arriving at approximately 8:00 a.m. Investigators would later recover several items in this area that belonged to Thelma, including her glasses and mobile phone.

On Oct 27, 2018, Thelma’s remains were found by a hunter in a wooded area southeast of Winnipeg. This area is located east of Highway 12 and north of Highway 1, in the rural municipality of Taché. Investigators believe this location is significant and that the suspect was familiar with this area and may live, work or is somehow connected to this location and had a reason to be there.

At the time of her disappearance Thelma was described as a white female, about 5’4” tall, 170 pounds and short dyed blonde hair with a purple streak. Thelma was last seen wearing:

- A red/orange t-shirt (bright-coloured)

- ¾-length black Capri style pants

- A black fanny pack

- Tan/brown hiking-style boots/shoes
