On July 7, 2025 Major Crimes investigators executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Langside Street following multiple robberies by a young teen.

On April 10, a young adult was walking in the 500 block of Maryland Avenue when they were approached by a young teen who pushed them to the ground and threatened to stab them if they did not hand over their phone. The suspect left the area with the victims’ phone.

On June 16, a young man arranged to meet a buyer through an online selling platform in the 300 block of Young Street to sell his e-scooter. The buyer took the e-scooter for a test ride but failed to return. The seller later located the individual, who was no longer in possession of the scooter. The suspect then pulled a knife, threatened the man, and fled the area.

On June 18, another man arranged to meet a seller from an online selling platform in the 300 block of Young street to purchase a phone from him. During the exchange, the man gave the seller cash for the phone. After taking the cash, the suspect pulled out an axe and demanded the phone back. The suspect fled the area with the phone.

No injuries were reported during the robberies.

Major Crimes investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses, leading them to an apartment in the 400 block of Langside Street.

On July 7, 2025 at 8:28 p.m., with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team (TST), investigators executed a search warrant for the apartment and found property and clothing believed to be related to the robberies. During the search, police arrested a young teenager matching the description of the suspect. He was found to be in possession of 4.3 grams of methamphetamine.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with three counts of robbery, possession of methamphetamine, and breaching conditions of his undertaking. He was detained in custody.
