On May 18, 2025 at 1:32 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the bike path at Assiniboine Park just east of the Roblin Boulevard entrance for the report of a robbery by an adult male.

West District General Patrol attended and learned that a 25-year-old female was assaulted while walking east on Roblin Boulevard near Commissary Road. The suspect continued the assault while demanding money until several witnesses intervened. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

At 5:31 p.m., Winnipeg Fire Paramedics attended to the 0-100 block of Commissionary Road for a medic call regarding an adult male, who matched the description of the suspect. The male was transported to hospital in stable condition and was subsequently identified by officers as a suspect in relation to the robbery. While no charges have been laid in this incident, the suspect remains in custody based on the strength of an unrelated unendorsed warrant.

While the investigation is continuing there is no concern for public safety at this time.
