On May 10, 2025 at 7:55 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a grocery store in the 1900 block of Abinojii Mikanah Boulevard for the report of a commercial robbery involving two suspects.

Responding East District General Patrol officers located an adult victim employed as security personnel at the above location. Officers learned that two adult male suspects stole merchandise from the store, sprayed the victim with bear spray, stole their cell phone, and fled on foot. The victim received medical treatment at the scene for the effects of bear spray.

Shortly after the robbery, officers received information that the suspects had been observed in the 0-100 block of Marlene Street. Officers attended the area, took both suspects into custody, and recovered a canister of bear spray during the arrest.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and determined that on April 27, 2025, at approximately 5:28 p.m., the same suspects were using private vehicle charging outlets (surface parking lot) in the 400 block of Beliveau Road. When asked to leave, one of the suspects discharged bear spray at a 37-year-old female victim. She did not require medical attention.
