On March 28, 2025, at approximately 11:47 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of an individual armed with a firearm outside of a restaurant in the 600 block of St. James Street.
West District General Patrol officers responded and determined that a 22-year-old female suspect was involved in a verbal altercation with several youth victims in front of the above location. During the confrontation, the suspect assaulted one of the youths, who reacted, resulting in the suspect falling to the ground. The suspect produced a firearm and pointed it at the youths, who notified staff of the restaurant and police were contacted. No shots were fired, and no one was injured as a result of the incident.
The investigation revealed the suspect was located in the 1800 block of Ellice Avenue. At approximately 1:49 a.m., the Tactical Support Team (TST) arrested her without incident.
A 22-year-old female from Winnipeg is facing the following charges:
- Assault
- Pointing a Firearm x 3
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
She was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
