On March 8, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., patrolling East District General Patrol officers observed a male sitting in driver’s seat of a parked Chevrolet Silverado in the 100 block of Linden Avenue.
Further investigation revealed the Silverado as being stolen from the area of Tecumseh Street and William Avenue on March 3, 2025. Upon seeing police, the male suspect, and lone occupant of the vehicle, attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended and arrested by officers a short time later without incident. It was at this time that officers noticed that the suspect was not wearing his ankle monitor, violating the conditions of his release order.
A 58-year-old male, from Winnipeg has been charged with the following:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 4
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2
- Warrant – Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 3
He was detained in custody.
