Update:
The Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate the September 10, 2024, homicide of a 22-year-old male, Zeyad Vifan SHAMMO of Ontario. The Winnipeg Police responded to the 300 block of Bridge Lake Drive for a report that SHAMMO had gone missing, and later determined to have been abducted.
He was located on September 13, 2024 deceased inside a residence in the 100 block of Bristol Avenue.
Investigators identified two suspects, a 26-year-old male, Sonny BALEMBA and a 26-year-old male, Robert James CHAYKOWSKI, who were known to the victim. Between September 12 and 14, 2024, they were arrested on the strength of warrants for First Degree Murder, Kidnapping and Extortion. They were detained in custody.
The Major Crimes Unit has continued to investigate this homicide and is requesting the public’s assistance to locate a third suspect; a 24-year-old male, Chad Jason DANDAN.
DANDAN is believed to be in the area of Northern Manitoba and a warrant for First Degree Murder, Kidnapping and Extortion has been issued for his arrest.

DANDAN is described as:
- A South Asian male
- Approximately 5’6” in height, with a medium build
- Approximately 140 lbs
DANDAN may be armed and dangerous and should not be approached if encountered.
