On November 23, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., General Patrol officers from the North District responded to a fast food restaurant in the 1100 block of Main Street for a robbery in progress.
A male armed with a knife entered the back-kitchen area and demanded food and threatened to kill the employees. They managed to secure themselves in an office and called 911. The male took a fire extinguisher and sprayed the entire kitchen and restaurant area, rendering it inoperable, and fled.
Police observed him leaving the restaurant and he was taken into custody. Nobody was injured in this incident.
An 18-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:
- Robbery
- Possession of a Weapon
- Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Mischief Over $5,000
- Possession of Scheduled Substance - Cocaine
He is in police custody.
