On November 12, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., North District Patrol officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 400 block of Burrows Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located and spoke to a 50-year-old male victim who advised officers that he had been robbed of his personal property and his vehicle by a group of four individuals.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and learned that the victim arranged to meet a female suspect at a residence in the 100 block of Tuxedo Avenue. Once inside, the victim was threatened, forcibly confined and assaulted by two awaiting male suspects while a third male and the female suspect robbed him of personal property and fled in his vehicle.

The victim was taken to a retail business in the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue where he was coerced into making a purchase with cashback for the suspects. The victim was subsequently released in the 100 block of Salter Street.

On November 17, 2024, the Major Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team (TST), executed a warrant at the involved residence where all four suspects were arrested without incident.

The victim and suspects were not previously known to one another.

Darrel Carson POSTLETHWAITE, 23, and Tasha LAQUETTE, 27, both from Winnipeg, are charged with Robbery and Forcible Confinement.

Both were detained in custody.

A 27-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

  • Forcible Confinement
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm

Both were released on Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
