On October 22, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a vehicle in an open field located in Rosser, MB, but within their jurisdiction.

West District Community Support Unit members attended and located the vehicle, a 2012 Honda Ridgeline reported stolen from the 200 block of Marlton Crescent on October 12, in a bushy area south east of the intersection of Sturgeon Road and Prairie Dog Trail. A side by side ATV and trailer were also observed in the same area.

As officers approached, the vehicle proceeded further into the bush line and subsequently became immobilized in a marsh. Officers initiated a lengthy foot pursuit through bush and unforgiving terrain and arrested two adult male suspects in the bush area.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and linked both suspects to a commercial break & enter which occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m., in the first block of Emes Road in West St.Paul, where the suspects breached a fence and loaded a CF Moto UForce 1000 XL Side by Side ATV onto a trailer and fled with both using the stolen Ridgeline. Further investigation by officers also linked the suspect to several other break & enter and theft incidents dating back to late August.
