Update:
On October 7, 2024, members of Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team arrested Breanne Joan BRUYERE (25), wanted in connection for the murder of Edgar Allan BEAR (56), on March 18, 2024.
She has been charged with Manslaughter and Obstructing Justice and detained in custody. Investigators have determined the accused BRUYERE and the deceased were previously known to each other.
As previously released:
On March 18, 2024, at approximately 4:40 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Selkirk Avenue regarding a deceased male who had been shot.
The deceased was identified as Edgar Allan BEAR, 56 years old, a member of the Peguis First Nation currently residing in Winnipeg.
Members of the Homicide Unit continued with the investigation.
Maxim Dale GARNEAU, 27 years old, was identified as a suspect and arrested for 2nd Degree Murder.
Breanne Joan BRUYERE, 25 years old is currently wanted for Manslaughter and Obstructing Justice.
