On June 13, 2024, at approximately 5:20 p.m., an unknown male attended to the St. John’s neighbourhood and began watching (from across the street) a mother and her two children in their yard. The female retreated inside with her children and locked the doors at which time the male attempted to break in but was scared off by another person within the residence. The Winnipeg Police were contacted and an investigation was initiated.

Approximately 10 minutes later the same male attended to an apartment building nearby. The unknown male unlawfully entered a suite while armed with a syringe and confronted two teenage females. They were forced into a bedroom where he threatened to kill them and physically and sexually assaulted them. The male passed out and the victims called 911 for help. Police arrived and the male who was still on scene was taken into custody. The victims were taken to the hospital for medical attention.

The Sex Crimes Unit took over the investigation and the accused was linked to both incidents.
