On June 2, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a sexual assault at Kirkbridge Park in the Richmond West neighbourhood.
The victim, in her 20s, was walking home from a bus stop on Pembina Highway. As she passed through Kirkbridge Park, she was pushed to the ground by an unknown male and sexually assaulted. The suspect eventually fled on a bicycle, and she ran to safety. Police were contacted, and the victim received medical attention.
The Sex Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and is in the early stages of gathering more information. An initial suspect description is as follows:
- a male with light skin who spoke English
- average build, approximately 5’8” in height
- he was wearing all black, with a black bb cap, black pants
- he was wearing a black Covid type of mask
- bicycle (no description at this time)
