On December 7, 2023, at approximately 9:05 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were patrolling the area of Portage Avenue and Main Street when a stolen GMC Envoy was observed.

The driver of the stolen vehicle containing additional occupants attempted to evade police by operating the vehicle in an erratic manner. As a result, Air1 was requested to assist in the containment of the vehicle. The stolen vehicle continued westbound on Portage Avenue and eventually turned north onto Colony Street at a high rate of speed into oncoming traffic, having no regard for public safety.

The stolen vehicle eventually stopped on Pacific Avenue after colliding with an uninvolved vehicle and narrowly missing a pedestrian at a crosswalk. The suspects fled the vehicle, and Air1 maintained a visual on the three suspects, who were safely taken into custody near a residence on Alexander Avenue.

The suspects were arrested due to the coordinated efforts of Division 11 and 14 General Patrol, Division 12 Community Support Unit, the Tactical Support Team and Air1. The following have been arrested/charged:
