In October 2023, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns & Gangs Unit entered an investigation involving an adult male suspect and the trafficking of illicit drugs in the north end of the City.

On October 11, Tactical Support Team members executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in the 400 block of Pritchard Avenue. Members located five individuals within the residence, including the suspect, and arrested them without incident.

As a result of the search of the residence, officers seized the following property as evidence:

- Air Rifles x 2

- Air Pistols x 2

- Approximately 67 rounds of Various Ammunition

- Approximately 2.5 Grams of Fentanyl (Estimated Street Value: $375)

- Approximately 4 Grams of Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value: $200)

- Approximately 3 Grams of Crack Cocaine (Estimated Street Value: $150)

- Bicycles x 27 (Believed to be Stolen)

- Motorcycle x 2 (Believed to be Stolen)

- Department of National Defense issued Body Armour (Turned over to Military Police)

- Packaging Materials

- Contaminated Drug Scales

Jamie August RICHAUD, 53, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

- Possession of a Weapon x 2

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl

- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 3

Joshua Corey DELAURIER, 32, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 5

- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl

Both were detained in custody.

An 18-year-old female, a 28-year-old female, and a 52-year-old male were released without charges.

The Property Crime Unit continues investigating the stolen property and identifying the rightful owners.

The Winnipeg Police Service reminds the public to document serial numbers of household products, such as electronics, power tools, and bicycles, and report any incidents of thefts to police. The documentation facilitates investigations in identifying victims of theft and increases the chances of the return of property to their rightful owners.
