In May of 2023, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit began investigating the break & enter of several lockers within a storage facility in the 100 block of Archibald Street.
Investigators identified an adult male and an adult female believed to be involved in the incidents.
Through their investigation, investigators learned the suspects, known to one another, leased separate lockers within the storage facility. Investigators linked both suspects to the following locker break-ins and theft of property:
Between May 19 and May 21, the suspects broke into three lockers, stole property from within, and stored them within their lockers. The suspects also broke into a fourth locker belonging to a non-profit organization, stole furniture from within, and sold them to an unsuspecting buyer through an online posting.
On June 3, investigators arrested both suspects at their residence in the 200 block of Toronto Street without incident.
Antonio DEROSE, 44, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:
- Break Enter & Theft – Place x 4
- Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
Erin Jo-Anne GARNER, 38, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:
- Break Enter & Theft – Place x 4
- Break Enter & Theft with Intent – Place
- Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
Both were detained in custody.
