On February 9, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the intersection of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue for the report of an adult male assaulted with a machete.
General Patrol officers from the West District, assisted by Tactical Support Team members, attended and located a 50-year-old male victim suffering from a lower-body injury sustained after being struck with a machete. The suspect fled on foot before police arrived. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition, where he underwent surgery for his injury.
