As previously released:
On January 25, 2023, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to an apartment in the 300 block of Hargrave Street for the report of a seriously injured male.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was already on scene and transported the victim to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Homicide Unit took over the investigation, and the appropriate notifications were made.
The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Richard Darryl WHEELER of Winnipeg.

Update:
On January 28, 2023, a 31-year-old female, Joy Nancy MOOSE of Winnipeg, was arrested for the homicide of Richard WHEELER. The accused and the victim were determined to be acquaintances.
MOOSE was charged with Second Degree Murder, Assault Peace Officer and a Warrant for being Unlawfully at Large.
While MOOSE was in custody, she assaulted one of the homicide detectives and was subsequently charged.
She was detained in custody.
