Impaired driving continues to be one of the leading criminal causes of death in Canada, yet it is 100% preventable.
Our message is simple - if you're under the influence of alcohol or drugs, DON’T DRIVE.
Final results:
- A total of 2929 cars were stopped during high visibility setups
- 75 drivers were found under the influence of alcohol/drugs and were processed by police
- 481 Roadside breath tests were conducted. 47 of which produced readings that resulted in immediate roadside driving prohibitions
- 28 drivers were charged with Criminal Impaired Driving related offences
- 1/3 of the people charged were involved in collisions, one of which included a fatality
- Average blood alcohol concentration was 140 mg% (Highest = 270 mg%)
- The average age was 36 years old (youngest = 18, oldest = 66)
- 56 males / 19 females
- 96 traffic offence tickets
