On December 10, 2022, at approximately 11:30 a.m., General Patrol officers in the North District responded to a 911 hang-up call from a residence in the 600 block of Flora Avenue.
As officers neared the involved residence, they observed a male standing with property by a taxi. He immediately jumped and hid in the backseat as police drove by. As they approached the taxi, the suspect exited and ran to the rear of a residence.
Officers chased after him as he tossed some property over a fence before he was taken into custody. The discarded property was recovered, and the following items were seized:
- Approximately 33 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $1,650)
- Approximately 12 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $1,200)
- Approximately 1.5 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value of $220)
- Packaging materials and drug paraphernalia
- $1,899 Canadian currency
- 40 scratch lottery tickets (valued at $113)

A 38-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Fentanyl
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 2
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking
- Warrant for Failing to Attend Court
- Warrant for Failing to Attend Ident
He was released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
