On November 24, 2022, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a commercial robbery at a convenience store in the 200 block of St. Mary’s Road. A store employee contacted police after three males threatened him with a knife, stealing lottery tickets and other merchandise. The employee was not injured.
The suspect information was broadcast to the units in the area. General Patrol officers quickly located two suspects with matching descriptions near Goulet Street and Tache Avenue.
The two suspects were taken into custody. A bladed weapon was seized, along with some methamphetamine. All of the store merchandise was recovered.
A 19-year-old male is facing the following charges:
- Robbery
- Poss of a Weapon
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Disguise with Intent
- Poss of Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine
He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
A 33-year-old male is facing a charge of Robbery. He was detained in custody.
