In early November 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted to suspicious activity on a property in the city's North End.

On November 11, at approximately 12:45 p.m, investigating North District Community Support officers attended the involved residence located in the 500 block of Pipeline Road. While on the scene, officers observed an adult male asleep at the wheel of a 2002 GMC Sierra they determined was reported stolen from Whitemouth, MB, on August 21, 2022. Officers safely placed the male under arrest without incident.

Through their investigation, officers learned the male had stored a large quantity of stolen property on the residence grounds.

The Property Crime Unit assumed the investigation.

As a result of their investigations, Community Support Unit members and Property Crime Unit investigators located and seized the following stolen property at the residence:

The Property Crime Unit reminds the public to register and record serial numbers of vehicles and trailers, including Powersports and leisure products. Serial numbers of household products such as electronics, power tools, bicycles, and jewelry should also be documented. The documentation facilitates investigations in identifying victims and substantiating property theft charges. In addition, documentation of property increases the chances of the return of property to its rightful owners.
