On October 24, 2022, at approximately 2:45 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service attended to the intersection of Notre Dame Avenue and Keewatin Street for the report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Officers from the West District attended to the intersection where Paramedics were providing emergency medical care to an injured male lying in the street. The suspect vehicle and occupant (s) had fled the scene following the collision. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition; however, succumbed to his injuries.
Members of the Traffic Collision Investigation Section, assisted by the Forensic Services Unit, conducted a scene examination and identified the victim as a 56-year-old male from Winnipeg. Notifications have been made.
The Traffic Division is investigating the collision as a hit & run incident. The suspect vehicle is described as a white, or light colored SUV.
