In August 2022, the Guns & Gangs Unit began a firearms-related investigation, culminating with a search warrant for a suite at an apartment building in the 100 block of Jarvis Avenue.

The search warrant was executed on the morning of September 9, and two females were arrested. A male suspect attempted to barricade himself in an adjacent suite but was also taken into custody. He was found to have $685 in cash.

A search of the target suite resulted in the seizure of a number of items, including the following:

- A loaded sawed-off 12-gauge Maverick shotgun
- A loaded sawed-off .22 calibre Remington rifle
- A loaded .22 calibre Mossberg rifle
- A prohibited .25 calibre Colt handgun
- A 7.62mm calibre SKS rifle with an over-capacity magazine
- Three .22 calibre ammunition magazines
- 283 rounds of assorted ammunition
- 24.5 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value of $10,000)
- 8.3 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $415)
- 73.5 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $7,350)
- Two stolen bicycles

Daniel Kevin Johnston, a 37-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x5)
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations (x5)
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Poss is Unauthorized (x3)
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x21)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

Madison Marie Morrisseau, a 21-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x5)
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations (x5)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition (x3)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

A 29-year-old female of Winnipeg has been processed on two outstanding warrants for allegation of non-compliance with her conditional sentence order.

All three were detained.
