On July 22, 2022, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service observed a stolen vehicle occupied by three individuals being operated near Talbot Avenue and Watt Street.
East District Community Support Unit and General Patrol officers located the vehicle parked at Talbot Avenue and Levis Street with two adult female passengers. The male driver fled the scene before officers arrived. Officers arrested both adult females and took them into custody without incident.
Officers searched the vehicle and seized a loaded semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun, four 12-gauge ammunition, a canister of bear spray repellent, and a plastic bag containing twenty-seven individually wrapped pieces of crack cocaine. An additional small quantity of individually wrapped crack cocaine and approximately $443 in currency were also seized from the accused.
Jada RENSCHLER, 42, of Winnipeg, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Weapon (x 2)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x 2)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
Deanna RENSCHLER, 44, of Winnipeg, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Weapon (x 2)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x 2)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Cocaine - Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
They have been detained in custody.
The male suspect remains outstanding.
The investigation is continuing.
