On June 14, 2022, at approximately 1:15 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of an injured person in the yard of Chief Peguis Junior High.
A person passing through the field observed the victim and quickly ran to a nearby convenience store and contacted police for help.
Police located a female in her twenties, injured and bleeding. She was transported to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable condition.
The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation, and three youth suspects in the area were taken into custody. The victim did not provide further information to investigators, and no charges were laid.
