During the Victoria Day long weekend, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to several serious stabbing incidents:

- On May 20, 2022, at 11:16 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hospital after a male in his 30s was dropped off with a severe stab wound. He was admitted in critical condition and later upgraded to stable condition. It is believed he had been stabbed near a bar in the 800 block of Main Street, and the Major Crimes Unit is investigating. Incident C22-107494.

- On May 21, 2022, at 10:31 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Main Street and Jarvis Avenue after two females (one in her 30s and the other in her 40s) were stabbed outside of a nearby bar. Officers provided emergency medical care, and both females were transported to a hospital in unstable condition. They were later upgraded to stable condition. The Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation, and three individuals (a 15-year-old male, a 17-year-old female and a 37-year-old male) were charged with assault-related offences. Incident C22-107824.

- On May 22, 2022, at 2:13 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a bar in the 100 block of Osborne Street after a male in his 30s was stabbed while working as security. Officers provided emergency medical care, and the male was transported to a hospital in critical condition. He was later upgraded to stable condition. The Major Crimes Unit is investigating. Incident C22-108444.

- On May 22, 2022, at 6:35 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the 600 block of Alexander Avenue after a male in his 30s was stabbed during a child's birthday party. Officers provided emergency medical care, and the male was transported to a hospital in stable condition. A second male in his 30s attended a hospital soon after for treatment for a cut. Both males declined further police assistance. Incident C22-108861.

- On May 22, 2022, at 11:31 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a residence in the 100 block of Powers Street after two teenage males were stabbed at a nearby basketball court. Officers provided emergency medical care, and both males were transported to a hospital in unstable condition. They were later upgraded to stable condition. The Major Crimes Unit is investigating. Incident C22-109065.

- On May 23, 2022, at 2:05 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hospital after two males in their 20s attended with stab wounds. They were admitted in stable condition, and it is believed that they were stabbed near a bar in the 400 block of Main Street. Both males declined further police assistance. Incident C22-109137.

As of today (May 24), the Winnipeg Police Service has responded to 860 dispatched events in 2022 where a stabbing was suspected – an average of just under 6 per day.
