Members of the Homicide Unit are providing an update on the homicide investigation of Tyler Patrick Yarema, a 42-year-old male who was shot and killed two months ago.

On November 29, 2021, at approximately 5:30 a.m., General Patrol units responded to a report of shots that had been fired at a single-family residence in the 200 block of Forrester Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found that Yarema had been shot and administered emergency medical care until he was transported to a hospital in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The Homicide Unit continued with the investigation. It is believed that the homicide occurred during a home invasion. Yarema did not live at the house but was present at the time. He was shot during the incident, and attempts were made to kill two other people within the residence.
