Shooting – Investigation: C22-41722

On February 28, 2022, at approximately 4:45 a.m., General Patrol officers responded to a shooting in front of an apartment building in the 500 block of Elgin Avenue.

Officers observed the windows shot out of the apartment vestibule and they followed a blood trail leading to a suite. Two adult females were located injured. One of the females
had been shot in the upper body and was transported to hospital in critical condition, while the other female was transported unstable. Both victims are now stable.

The two victims report being shot at while standing in front of the building waiting for the door to open. The suspect appeared to be a male who was unknown to the victims. He subsequently fled westbound.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information to assist investigators is asked to call the Major Crimes Unit at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
