On January 13, 2024, at approximately 10:20 p.m., East General Patrol officers were dispatched to the first 100 block of Boulder Bay for the report of a male in a vehicle acting erratically.

Upon arrival, officers observed the lone occupant and driver sitting in the vehicle. The driver immediately fled from police, colliding with a parked vehicle. Officers initiated a pursuit with assistance from West District General Patrol, Flight Operations (Air1), and Canine (K9) Units. Shortly into the pursuit, the suspect vehicle's driver began to drive in a manner dangerous to the general public, including driving into oncoming traffic.

Due to the danger posed to the general public, Air1 maintained visual containment of the vehicle and guided units on the ground. During the incident, the suspect collided with a stopped vehicle at the intersection of Donald Street and Portage Avenue, causing extensive damage, and continued to flee. With guidance from Air1, ground units utilized multiple stop sticks, effectively disabling and slowing the vehicle. Units stopped the vehicle in the 300 block of McMillan Avenue and safely arrested the suspect following a brief foot pursuit. The incident occurred over approximately thirty minutes and spanned through the Windsor Park, Downtown, and River/Osborne neighbourhoods. No injuries were reported.
