On May 31, 2023, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to an individual in medical distress in the 600 block of Sherburn Street. A male was transported to hospital and passed away; however, his identity remains unknown. 

The incident is not considered suspicious or criminal in nature.

Investigators in the Missing Persons Unit have attempted to identify this person through numerous investigative avenues, including sharing information with community-based groups and other law enforcement agencies.

A composite sketch has been created to help raise the public’s awareness in hopes of identifying this male and notifying his family.  

- He is described as being in his early 20s

- Approximately 5’6” in height with a thin build

- He has short dark hair with artificial black/brown braids woven into his hair

- He was wearing a blue bandana tied on his head with the word dreams written in a repeating pattern

- He has a thin mustache and wispy chin hair

- He has pink nail polish on his fingernails and toenails

- His teeth have visible cavities

- His clothing is distinct (black leather-type jacket, black “Brazen Hall” t-shirt, brown corduroy pants, grey/blue/orange Asics runners)

- He has an orange and white beaded necklace with waves on a pendant

- His left ear is pierced, with a gold/red gem earring

- He had a pen with the logo “Municipality of Baker Lake” (in Nunavut)
