Update:

On April 21, 2023, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Mark Phillip TRAVERSE, 25, of Winnipeg, was arrested at his residence and charged with Manslaughter.

He was detained in custody.

As previously released:

On April 11, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 300 block of Princess Street for the report of a male who had been assaulted.

Central District General Patrol officers attended and met with the 25-year-old victim. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition.

Their investigation determined that the victim, Leo Charles MARTIN-SHEA, 25, of Winnipeg, had been assaulted on the east side of Main Street at Stella Avenue on April 8 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. MARTIN-SHEA returned home; however, police and emergency personnel were not contacted until April 11 as his condition had worsened.

MARTIN-SHEA sustained life-altering injuries from which he could not recover and succumbed to his injuries on April 19, 2023.

The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit.
