Drugs/Firearm – Arrest: C22-293963

Released: December 20, 2022 at 1:47 p.m.

On December 19, 2022, at approximately 5:50 p.m., officers from the Winnipeg Police Service Traffic Division observed a stolen vehicle being operated in the Spence neighbourhood.

As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect sped off and became stranded in the snow. The suspect fled on foot as officers approached. After a short foot pursuit, central district General Patrol officers safely placed the suspect under arrest in the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue. The suspect also identified himself using a false name during his arrest.

Officers seized the following items after a search of the suspect and the vehicle:

- Glock-style BB Handgun

- Large Knife

- Bow with Arrows

- Baseball Bat

- Approximately 8 grams of Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value = $400)

- Approximately .5 grams of Fentanyl (Estimated Street Value = $75)

- Quantity of Cocaine in powder and rock form (Estimated Street Value = $450)

- Approximately 60 Oxybutynin Prescription pills

- Approximately 3.3 grams of Cannabis (Estimated Street Value = $50)

- Approximately 1.3 grams of Cannabis Oil Shatter (Estimated Street Value = $32)

Through their investigation, officers determined the vehicle containing the bow and arrows was reported stolen from the East Kildonan neighbourhood on December 18. Officers also identified the suspect and learned he was named in two arrest warrants. (Unlawfully-at-Large/ Apprehension, Suspension, and Recommitment to Custody of Statutory Release).

Hunter Allan AUDETTE, 28, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

- Possession of a Weapon x 4

- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 x 4

- Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer

- Escape Lawful Custody

- Public Mischief

- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 3

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine)

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) x 2

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

In addition, AUDETTE was issued several offence notices under the Provincial Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor, Gaming & Cannabis Control Act.

He remains in custody.
