The Winnipeg Police Service previously released about an ongoing investigation involving nine adult survivors who reported historical grooming and sexual abuse by their football coach during the 90s and 2000s. The accused taught physical education and coached football at Churchill High School and Vincent Massey Collegiate for approximately two decades.

The survivors (who were teens at the time) reported exploitative relationships forged by their coach and sexual offences that took place at his residence.

52-year-old Kelsey Albert Dana MCKAY of Winnipeg was charged with 24 historical sexual assault and exploitation-related offences.

Update:

On September 28, 2022, the Sex Crimes Unit was contacted by a former student of Vincent Massey Collegiate. He reported being lured, harassed and sexually assaulted by the same football coach during the 2000s.

On October 13, 2022, McKAY was charged with six new offences:

- Sexual assault
- Sexual interference
- Sexual exploitation
- Luring x 2
- Harassing telephone calls

He was released by way of Crown-authorized conditions.
