On June 11, 2024, at approximately 11:50 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 400 block of Kennedy Street for the report of an injured adult male who had been assaulted.
Central District General Patrol officers arrived and located the male who had sustained life-threatening injuries resulting from a stabbing and immediately provided emergency medical care before the arrival of ambulance. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced deceased.
The Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation and has identified the victim as 49-year-old Ricky Dwayne MANCHEESE of Winnipeg. Family notifications have been made.
The investigation is continuing, and no arrests have been made.
