Train Incident: C24-129112

Released: June 8, 2024 at 8:47 a.m.

On June 7, 2024, at approximately 4:55 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) responded to the report of a person struck by a train at the tracks near Concordia Avenue East and Peguis Street.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) transported a 29-year-old male to hospital in critical condition. The initial investigation indicates that the male was walking along the tracks when struck by a westbound freight train.

WPS Traffic Division continues to investigate.

The public is reminded to exercise extreme caution when their activities take them in and around active rail lines.
