Commercial Robbery – Arrest: C24-110842

On May 18, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a jewellery store in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue for the report of a commercial robbery.

West District, General Patrol officers attended and determined that a male suspect had fled in a vehicle before their arrival.

Through the initial investigation, officers learned that a male suspect, while concealing his identity, entered the business and confronted staff. While doing so, he acknowledged that he was armed and began grabbing a large quantity of merchandise before fleeing. No injuries were reported.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation.

On May 20, 2024, at approximately 8:35 a.m., the male was observed operating the suspect vehicle on Notre Dame Avenue. The vehicle was stopped, and the male was arrested.

Marc Maurice HEBERT, 41, has been charged with the following:

- Robbery

- Disguise with Intent

- Take Motor Vehicle without Consent (Joyriding)

HEBERT was detained in custody.

The stolen merchandise has not been recovered, and the investigation continues.
