On May 18, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to an apartment complex in the 300 block of Cumberland for the report of an adult male in possession of a firearm.

Central District General Patrol officers attended the involved suite, where they located the male and placed him under arrest without incident. Three additional adults within the suite were also arrested without incident. As officers verified the well-being of the occupants, several items were noted in plain view within the apartment and were seized as evidence.

The seized property included the following:

  • A Colt .41 Calibre Revolver (confirmed stolen)
  • An Air Pistol (converted to accept .22 Calibre ammunition)
  • A Collapsible Baton
  • A Butterfly Knife
  • Various Calibre Ammunition
  • Approximately 60 Grams of Cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $6,000)
  • Approximately 56 Grams of Fentanyl (Estimated Street Value = $8,300)
  • Approximately 233 Grams of Psilocybin (Estimated Street Value = $2,300)
  • Approximately $2,300 CDN. Currency
  • Packaging Materials

Caleb ROCH, 23, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x 2
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition x2
  • Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order 
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 4

He was detained in custody.

A 27-year-old female faces the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance and was released by way of an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code. A 29-year-old male and a 23-year-old female were released without charges.
