On May 12, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., North District General Patrol Officers responded to the 200 block of Powers Street regarding the sound of gunshots.

Upon arrival, officers located two injured females within a residence, one of which sustained a gunshot wound. Emergency medical care was provided by applying a tourniquet and bandages. The victims, a 42-year-old female (gunshot injury) and a 39-year-old female were transported to hospital and are in stable condition.

The investigation determined that the suspects had attended to the residence and knocked on the door. The occupants greeted them, and after a brief conversation, they closed the door. Moments later, multiple shots were heard through the door, injuring both females. The suspects fled the area.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit were notified and continue to investigate.

Anyone with additional information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at (204) 986-6219 or Winnipeg Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
