Stabbing – Arrest: C24-77180

On April 8, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a stabbing in the area of River/Osborne.

The victim, in her 30s, was waiting at a bus shelter at River/Osborne when the accused, who was also waiting at the stop, engaged in a verbal argument with her. As the argument escalated, the victim was punched in the face and subsequently stabbed as the suspect wrestled with the bag she was holding.

The victim boarded another bus for safety, contacted police, and the suspect was located nearby and taken into custody in possession of a knife. 

A 48-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

- Robbery

- Assault with a Weapon

- Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm

- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon

He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
