On April 8, 2024 at approximately 5:40 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 1000 block of Beaverhill Boulevard for the report of an intoxicated adult male causing a disturbance at a retail coffee shop.

East District General Patrol officers attended and located the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest without incident. An unoccupied 2023 Chrysler Pacifica was located nearby.

Through their investigation, officers determined the suspect, prior to attending this location, had been operating a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica in the Southdale area in a dangerous manner prompting several calls for service from members of the public. Officers confirmed the involved vehicle had previously been reported stolen from an auto rental business in the 300 block of Pembina Highway on April 3.

During a search of the stolen vehicle, officers recovered a CO²- powered handgun, which was seized as evidence.
